Monday's thought
An impressive resume may get you the job, but it's character and results that keep it.

Holocracy....It's not for the corporate masses
Aloha Friday! We all follow different blogs, news sites, etc along with the things that interest us most. I follow several different sites and just recently read something I wanted to share your reading pleasure that I found very interesting.
Have you heard of Holocracy? No? Wait until you read what it is and how many companies are not doing it. Really, it's not for the masses. But one very popular company is implementing it now and I look forward to following this story.
In lieu of boring you with anything else, I'll cut to the chase and add the link so you don't have to scroll to the bottom: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/on-leadership/wp/2014/01/03/zappos-gets-rid-of-all-managers/
I'd also like to add that if you have not read much about Zappos, it's a pretty cool company to read about. Tony Hsieh, CEO is awesome. Not just because he has an incredible business track record, but the things he does within Zappos I would not necessarily consider "the norm".
In 2009, I had the opportunity to see Tony speak. I found his style very interesting and even refreshing from what we typically see. So the Holocracy implementation is not all that surprising.
This presentation also made me a fan of audio books. Tony shared a few of his reading recommendations which I found interesting reads.
So I'll leave you with one more link from his 2009 presentation and a few of his recommendations. http://www.slideshare.net/zappos/zappos-sxsw-31409
Have a great weekend.@bryrei

Welcome to 2014
Happy New Year and Welcome to 2014! As I look back on my personal and professional life of 2013, I'm excited by the accomplishments and all the people I've had the opportunity to meet.
As I enter 2014, I look forward to much more of the same. I also look forward to the opportunity of sharing more as well as learning more from those I'm connected with, as well as from those I look forward to connecting with.
One thing I'd like to share today is for your investment side. Zack's Investment Research just upgraded Amazon to a Strong Buy. Check out the article: http://www.zacks.com/stock/news/118568/amazon-a-strong-buy
I'll end this by sharing with you something I really
like to say as it is what I will enter into 2014 with: Embrace the adventure that is
life. Read between the lines, don’t read
between the lines, analyze the crap out of what you think it means,
whatever.
Our life is one big adventure for us to explore personally
and professionally....embrace it.
Look forward to connecting with you in 2014!
